303 Rhum
303 Rhum is an artisanal Malagasy distillery established in 1970 by Jean Verger. It is now led by Christian Razafimahatratra, CEO and founder of the 303 RHUM brand, and is based in Ambalavao Tsienimparihy in the southern highlands of Madagascar. Drawing on the ancestral know-how of "Toaka Gasy", the traditional bootleg rum of the Betsileo region, the company both preserves and innovates across fermentation, distillation, ageing, and rum blending. Its creations are made from wild sugarcane harvested locally along the rivers of the South and from molasses sourced from sugar mills in the North of the island, resulting in authentic, aroma-rich rums that embody Malagasy terroir and craftsmanship.
The context
Artisanal distillery scaling its growth with Odoo ERP
303 Rhum is an artisanal Malagasy distillery, inheriting the ancestral know-how of Toaka Gasy in the Betsileo region and crafting authentic rums that highlight the terroir and craftsmanship of Madagascar.
Before this project, 303 Rhum was already using an Odoo environment but needed clarity on how well it matched their business processes and how to configure the core system settings to effectively support their operations and future growth.
The objective was to establish a reliable ERP foundation that reflected their actual business practices, ensured implementation feasibility within a confirmed budget and timeline, and gave the management team confidence in how Odoo would support their ongoing innovation in distillation and rum production.
Their needs
Clarifying requirements and configuring a reliable Odoo core
303 Rhum wanted reassurance about the feasibility of their Odoo project, to be sure their partner truly understood their business, to confirm a realistic budget and timeline, and to know exactly how the system would be configured to meet their operational needs.
- Validate the feasibility of the Odoo project for their distillery business.
- Ensure their specific processes were clearly understood before configuring the system.
- Confirm a clear budget and implementation timeline for the Odoo ERP.
- Define and document how Odoo would be set up to support their day-to-day operations.
The proposed solution
A complete Odoo environment analysis leading to a customised setup
Captivea Madagascar carried out a complete analysis of 303 Rhum’s existing Odoo environment through business discovery and themed workshops, produced structured deliverable documents, presented and refined them based on feedback, then configured the core system settings and deployed the selected Odoo apps – Employees, Time Off, Payroll, Inventory, Purchase, Accounting and Sales – to centralise information, automate key processes and support better decision-making.
The first step of this project is to perform a complete analysis of the client's Odoo environment.
