The context

From fragmented workflows to integrated manufacturing management

Malton Best is a Canadian manufacturer specialising in fabrication and custom manufacturing, offering CNC laser cutting, milling, turning, welding and assembly services to deliver tailored solutions for its customers.

Before the project, Malton Best’s purchasing, sales and manufacturing processes were not fully optimised, making it harder to manage projects efficiently and maintain a centralised, reliable view of operations across the business.

For Malton Best, the priority was to secure more efficient project management, control its production flows from purchasing through to delivery, and gain better visibility over costs and operations to remain a dependable partner for its customers.

Their needs

A comprehensive ERP to streamline purchasing, sales and manufacturing

Malton Best was looking for a comprehensive ERP solution that would optimise its purchasing, sales and manufacturing flows and provide quality assistance and support throughout the project.

  • Optimise purchasing flows and supply management in a single system.
  • Streamline the sales process from quotations to orders and invoicing.
  • Improve control and planning of manufacturing operations and resources.
  • Benefit from expert Odoo guidance and ongoing support from a trusted partner.

The proposed solution

A phased Odoo ERP deployment grounded in a full environment analysis

Captivea Canada started the project with a complete analysis of Malton Best’s Odoo environment to understand the business, confirm feasibility, define the budget, clarify the project approach and timeline, and formalise deliverables. On this basis, Odoo ERP was implemented with Inventory, Manufacturing, Purchase and Sales to manage supply chain and production, Odoo Studio for sales customisation, and Accounting and Invoicing for finance. This unified setup centralises information, saves time, automates tasks and optimises purchasing, inventory and sales management within a single business solution.

The first step of this project is to perform a complete analysis of the client's Odoo environment.

Analysis objectives

  • To be reassured on the faisability
  • Show that we understood their business
  • To confirm a budget
  • To know and confirm how we will do it
  • Know the timeline

Analysis processes

  1. Business discovery
  2. Workshops By theme / group of people / domains
  3. Create the deliverables documents
  4. Present it
  5. Handle feedback
