Overview

This application connects Odoo to the QuickBooks Online API through Intuit OAuth 2.0, in a Sandbox or Production environment. It helps you analyse, map and migrate your QuickBooks company with a guided wizard, from connection to reconciliation. Unlike a bulk data transfer, every account, tax, partner and product match goes through your approval, and nothing reaches Odoo until you have reviewed the plan. It then keeps Odoo up to date through incremental sync and webhooks, and once you switch to Live mode, lets you enable Odoo-to-QuickBooks sync object by object.

Key features

  • Create and manage one or more QuickBooks instances in Odoo, each linked to one Odoo company with its own mappings and task queue.
  • Take advantage of dedicated wizards (company analysis, mapping assistant, guided migration) to prepare, validate and import your accounting data into Odoo.
  • Compare your financial statements with QuickBooks (P&L, balance sheet, AR, AP, bank) and drill down from each variance to its source transactions.

What is it?

Switching accounting tools takes more than a simple data import. Your real priority: keeping your books accurate and choosing the right time to switch. With the connector, your finance team moves through nine guided steps (welcome, connect, analyse, map, preview, import, link, reconcile, go live) and can go back to any of them whenever needed. In other words, you decide what enters Odoo, and when you go live.

Save time on your accounting migration and keep a clear view of every step. Track income, expenses, AR, AP, cash and project progress on a single dashboard. The connector handles each QuickBooks record as its own task and can pause, resume and retry failed tasks, so one isolated error doesn’t hold up the rest.

Key benefits:

  • A controlled migration: Nothing is imported until you approve the plan, and low-confidence matches wait for your approval before they are applied.
  • Protected books: Existing accounts are never overwritten without your choice, posted entries are never silently deleted, and unsafe taxes are blocked rather than guessed.
  • Documents that stay linked: Estimates and invoices, invoices and payments, purchase orders and bills stay connected, including partial payments and payments spread across several documents.
  • Verifiable figures: Compare your P&L, balance sheet, AR, AP and bank with QuickBooks reports, then drill down from each variance to the source transaction.
  • Secure access: Stay in control with Intuit OAuth 2.0, automatic token refresh and admin-only secrets redacted from logs. Intuit passwords are never stored in Odoo.

How does this Odoo app work?

  1. Set up a QuickBooks instance in Odoo by entering the instance name, the Odoo company, the environment (Sandbox or Production) and your Intuit Client ID and Client Secret. Then click on "Connect QuickBooks" to authorise access through Intuit.
  2. Analyse your QuickBooks company with "Analyse company". Check the record count for each object before any import. Enable the objects you need and set a date range to limit historical documents if needed.
  3. Validate your mappings and run the migration with the guided wizard. Approve, replace, create or ignore each account and tax. Partners are matched by QuickBooks ID, tax ID, email, then name, and products by SKU, then name. The preview shows what will be created or updated.
  4. Reconcile your figures with QuickBooks before going live. Compare Odoo with QuickBooks reports, fix mappings or retry failed tasks, then switch to Live mode. QuickBooks Online Connector then lets you enable Odoo-to-QuickBooks sync object by object.
