Case on Odoo

The context

Tailored Odoo for complex investment fund management

Squale Capital is a Management Company (ManCo) based in Luxembourg, specializing in investment fund management for around 30 companies and funds.

Before this project, Squale Capital was running on a standard Odoo package that did not fully reflect its specific investment fund management processes, which raised questions about feasibility, budget, implementation choices and timelines for a more suitable solution.

The stakes were to secure a system that could support complex investment fund structures, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide reliable, real-time financial visibility for both internal teams and investors.

Their needs

A customized Odoo environment for investment fund operations

Squale Capital chose Captivea to benefit from tailored expertise and adapt Odoo to its specific investment fund management processes.

  • Adapt Odoo to Squale Capital’s specific investment fund management workflows.
  • Be reassured about the feasibility of transforming the standard Odoo package into a customized solution.
  • Confirm a clear budget and detailed implementation approach for the project.
  • Define and secure a realistic project timeline, from analysis through to deployment.

The proposed solution

An Odoo analysis and configuration aligned with fund management needs

Captivea began by performing a complete analysis of Squale Capital’s Odoo environment through business discovery and themed workshops, then produced detailed deliverable documents, presented them, and handled feedback to build confidence in feasibility, budget, implementation approach and timeline. On this basis, Odoo ERP was configured with Accounting, Invoicing, Documents, Sign, Knowledge, Whatsapp and Dashboard to deliver time savings, instant financial reporting, simplified payment management, centralized documents, automated electronic signatures, productivity gains and quick access to key performance indicators.

The first step of this project is to perform a complete analysis of the client's Odoo environment.

Analysis objectives

  • To be reassured on the faisability
  • Show that we understood their business
  • To confirm a budget
  • To know and confirm how we will do it
  • Know the timeline
