Comber Logistics: when 3PL logistics meets the power of Odoo with Captivea

Creating a logistics company is not just about renting warehouses or organizing deliveries. It’s about building a precision system, capable of absorbing complexity and staying fluid, even during growth.

This is the challenge Thomas Chalant took up by founding Comber Logistics in 2023, with a clear vision: combining agility and discipline from the start.

"When I launched Comber, I knew one thing: I wanted a company that’s agile but solid, and for that, I needed a rock-solid tool. Odoo and Captivea were the perfect combo!"

- Thomas Chalant, Founder and manager of Comber Logistics

To lay solid foundations, Thomas Chalant bet on Odoo. And for deployment, he turned to Captivea, a Gold-certified integrator in Luxembourg, recognized for its method, listening, and customized support.

Tailor-made logistics, designed for each client

Comber Logistics: a young, ambitious, structured company

Comber Logistics is not just any logistics provider. The company positions itself as a strategic partner, a true extension of its clients’ organization. Warehousing, order preparation, repackaging, quality control, customs declarations… everything is integrated, everything is modular. But above all, nothing is imposed.

"We offer tailor-made logistics services, so we provide services starting from warehousing, storage, order preparation, reconditioning, repacking, shipping, but also quality control, and possibly customs declarations."

- Thomas Chalant

An individualized client management

To achieve this, Comber made a strong choice: each client has their own Odoo environment, designed according to their usage. No imposed changes, no break in habits.

This approach allows Comber to remain agile while ensuring fine management of activities. Odoo thus becomes a true business tool, able to adapt to the specificities of each collaboration.

"Then, we created a multitude of environments used for each of our clients. There is one environment per client, configured according to the needs of each client."

- Thomas Chalant, Founder and manager of Comber Logistics

Thomas Chalant illustrates this operation for us through a concrete anecdote:

"Our little anecdote is that we recently integrated a new client by using the stock module of their Odoo environment. The only thing that was done: we didn’t change their habits at all, we just activated this stock module that we manage, which allows us to handle the stored products, process goods receipts and shipments that for them are purchases or sales on their side, without changing any of their habits, their operation, or their internal processes."

The results: efficiency, calm, scalability

A few months after launch, the observation is clear: the structure is in place, the processes are smooth, client management is precise, and every team member works with the right tools.

In just a few months, Comber has:

  • ✅ Gained efficiency in managing quotes, orders, and shipments
  • ✅ Centralized its client data for precise tracking
  • ✅ Personalized its offer thanks to Odoo instances per client
  • ✅ Improved service quality by reducing operational frictions

Odoo has become much more than an ERP: it is the engine of the company. And with Captivea, it has been configured to support every turn in growth.

Captivea support: method, listening, and fieldwork

Behind the collaboration between Comber and Captivea, there is above all a story of encounters.

In 2022, Thomas Chalant crossed paths with Maxime Grieshaber, CEO of Captivea Luxembourg, who was launching the Luxembourg branch of Captivea in turn. An exchange, then an obvious truth: the same energy, the same vision

"Following my meeting with Maxime Grieshaber in 2022, we immediately clicked. Maxime was launching Captivea Luxembourg, I was launching Comber, we were on the same wavelength, so the match happened right away."

- Thomas Chalant

Captivea did not just deploy a solution. The team supported Comber in structuring its operational model itself, by identifying the right modules, configuring independent client environments, and ensuring user skill development.

Customized support

Captivea intervened from the earliest project phases: module selection, configuration, client environment setup, and ongoing support. A pragmatic, efficient, business-oriented approach.

Captivea Luxembourg got involved very early in the project: scoping, business workshops, deliverable prioritization. This closeness is reflected in the testimony of Oussama Bougria, Odoo project manager at Captivea, who led the implementation.

"Our challenge is to deliver a global platform while keeping logistics at the center. We divided the deployment into sprints: first stock and order preparation, then CRM and invoicing, then HR. The advantage is that Odoo allows us to activate a module when the need arises, without reconfiguring the rest. Concretely, Thomas Chalant can register a new client this morning and have their logistics flows operational by tomorrow."

- Oussama Bougria, Project manager & Consultant at Captivea

Why bet on Odoo from the start?

One of Comber’s great strengths is having integrated the ERP before even needing it urgently. Where other companies wait to be overwhelmed to get structured, Thomas Chalant took the bet to prepare the ground beforehand.

And that’s what Odoo allows, in a tailor-made version. Thanks to its modularity, Comber can activate new features, manage multiple clients simultaneously, and scale without redesign.

An ERP used daily

At Comber, Odoo is not just for show. It structures the entire activity:

  • CRM
  • ⚙️ Email marketing
  • ⚙️ Sales and quotes management
  • Invoicing
  • ⚙️ Accounting and analytics
  • ⚙️ VAT declarations
  • ⚙️ HR and leave management
"We use Odoo for a series of features, from CRM, email marketing, sales including quotes, orders, invoicing, accounting, VAT declarations, financial management, analytical accounting, leave management…"

- Thomas Chalant

Thanks to Odoo, teams save time at every step. No more scattered files, no more reentries. Everything is centralized, structured, and synchronized.

A modular, scalable, flexible tool

Odoo was chosen for its ability to adapt to every business use. Whether for a small structure or a complex client environment, the ERP can evolve without a complete overhaul.

"There are a series of features, but today this is what we use in our Comber Logistics environment"

- Thomas Chalant

It’s not just software, it’s the foundation of the company. A tool designed from the start as a growth lever.

Laying the right foundations for building with confidence

The experience of Comber Logistics shows that it is possible to structure a company from the start without sacrificing agility. Thanks to Captivea and Odoo, the young logistics startup now has an infrastructure capable of supporting its growth while staying close to its clients’ needs.

Given the results obtained, Comber Logistics’ recommendation is clear: for any company wanting to combine rigorous structuring and flexibility, Odoo accompanied by Captivea is a winning choice.

We warmly thank Thomas Chalant and the entire Comber Logistics team for their trust and collaboration. Their project is a great example of digital success driven by a clear vision and customized support.
