Administrative and Accounting Manager

Antananarivo, Madagascar

The Administrative and Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting and administrative management of the entities under their supervision. They ensure the reliability of financial statements, compliance with legal and tax obligations, and support management in steering financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Finance

General Accounting:

  • Recording and posting accounting entries
  • Reconciliation (matching) of accounts

Monitoring of day-to-day operations:

  • Customer invoicing and follow-up in collaboration with the sales team
  • Supplier invoicing and payment management
  • Bank reconciliations

Management of specific transactions:

  • Recording payroll entries
  • Monitoring and posting expense reports
  • Fixed asset management

Closing activities:

  • Preparation and monitoring of tax declarations
  • Posting adjustment entries
  • Preparation of financial statements

Taxation:

  • Preparation and monitoring of tax declaratvcbions

Coordination:

  • Liaison with the external accountant and third-party stakeholders

Control:

  • Conducting regular accounting checks and verifications

2.  Administrative Management

  • Management of supplier and service provider contracts
  • Monitoring of insurance policies
  • Organization of archiving and document management
  • Regulatory monitoring:

    • Corporate law
    • Legal and tax obligations
  • Supervision of all administrative tasks of subsidiaries under their responsibility

3.  Budget Management and Performance Monitoring

  • Preparation and monitoring of budgets
  • Analysis of budget variances
  • Regular reporting to management
  • Contribution to strategic decision-making

Profile & Skills Required

Bachelor’s to Master’s degree (Bac +3 to Bac +5) in finance, accounting, or a related field

3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or in an accounting firm

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of current accounting and tax standards
  • Good command of accounting software and/or ERP systems (Odoo or others)
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Experience managing multiple foreign subsidiaries
  • English proficiency is an asset
