The context

Strengthening in-house IT skills for a secure Odoo ERP deployment

Walor International SAS operates the Walor Laval plant, a leading French manufacturer specialising in cold forging for the automotive industry. With a fully integrated in-house process from steel coil treatment to final machining, the site produces millions of forged, treated, and machined parts every year for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

Before the project, Walor International SAS decided to implement Odoo ERP and needed to ensure that the new system would be deployed on a secure, reliable server infrastructure. Their internal IT team wanted to gain the knowledge and confidence required to manage this environment themselves, from installation and configuration through to ongoing maintenance, without relying entirely on external providers.

The stakes were to secure a robust ERP foundation capable of supporting demanding automotive manufacturing flows, while giving the IT team full autonomy over the Odoo server. This meant avoiding operational downtime, protecting sensitive production and business data, and ensuring that the new ERP platform could evolve with the company's needs over time.

Their needs

Building autonomy to deploy and run a secure Odoo ERP platform

The client chose Captivea to work alongside and support their IT team throughout the process, helping them strengthen their skills to independently install, configure, and maintain a secure Odoo server.

  • Structured support and coaching for the internal IT team throughout the Odoo ERP deployment.
  • Skills transfer to independently install and configure a production-ready Odoo server.
  • Best-practice guidance to secure and maintain the Odoo infrastructure over the long term.
  • A trusted technical partner to validate decisions and ensure a stable, reliable ERP environment.

The proposed solution

Coaching Walor's IT team to operate their own secure Odoo ERP

Captivea France supported Walor International SAS in deploying Odoo ERP by focusing on autonomy and security for the internal IT team. Rather than outsourcing everything, Captivea guided the team through the installation, configuration, and hardening of the Odoo server, sharing best practices and practical know-how. This approach allowed Walor to keep control of its ERP infrastructure while benefiting from a secure, well-configured Odoo environment tailored to its manufacturing operations.

The first step of this project is to perform a complete analysis of the client's Odoo environment.
