A CRM project? CIO: Prepare for change management

A CRM project is often synonymous with major changes within a company. New tools, new ways of working, new rules to follow… All these changes are not always easy for employees to accept. However, with a well-crafted change management system, it is possible to avoid the main forms of resistance. Here are some ways to boost the adoption rate of your CRM software.

This may not seem very useful at first glance, but it’s actually one of the keys to success: the project’s “branding”. Working with your internal communications or marketing department, give the project a name that can be used CRM project internally.

Roll it out as soon as it’s officially approved, and motivate the troops with challenges like “imagine your future CRM,” etc. This is an excellent way to involve future users. They’ll be able to follow the progress of the project, give their feedback, share their concerns…

You’ll be able to remove many obstacles even before deployment.

Here’s another important approach to follow: include every line of business in the project. After all, customer relationship management software doesn’t only affect the sales department-far from it! As CIO, you need to act as the link between all departments and make sure everyone is heard. All needs must be identified. Don’t leave accounting or logistics out, for example. Of course, you won’t be able to meet everyone’s wishes-you’ll have to prioritize-but they’ll have had a chance to speak up, and you’ll be able to explain the reasons behind your decisions.

Finally, be organized! Building a precise calendar  coincides with peace of mind for you and your teams. If questions come up, everyone can refer to this calendar (updated regularly, of course). Your phone and inbox will thank you.
