As a world-leading Odoo integrator, we attended Odoo Experience 2021. The annual event took place on October 6 and 7, 2021. It brings together all members of the Odoo ecosystem: partners, customers, software users, fans and the simply curious. Experts from all over the world, including Fabien Pinckaers, CEO of Odoo SA, reveal how the software suite can completely transform the way your company operates. They present the improvements and best practices of Odoo Odoo 15, the latest version released during the event. As usual, the evolution of the tool is impressive. Below, we’ll share some of the new features in V15 that stood out during these days.
Odoo 15: What’s new for eCommerce
Several features have been added to the online sales side in version 15 of Odoo.
Unit price
The new version of Odoo makes it easy to add the unit price of a product. It will comply with the guidelines in your country. This information can be activated by product. It will allow consumers to quickly compare offers-for example, when your products are sold in packs of 3, 8, 12… boxes.

Wishlist
When a customer wants to buy a product that is no longer in stock, they can add it to a wish list. They will then be notified as soon as the item is available again. An email is sent to them automatically. In addition, a “buy now” button is built into the email to help boost sales.
Gift card
Odoo 15 includes gift cards, which the bearer can use as a means of payment. The gift card can be:
- personalized (issued in the name of a specific person);
- purchased directly from the company’s website;
- configured in the back end of Odoo.
Attributes and variants
The new version also improves how you configure variables and attributes. These are simple options or specifications of a product, such as colour. They don’t create separate products and can be hidden from filters.

Product Images
Maybe you don’t have time to photograph your products, or you’re not comfortable creating appealing visuals. Odoo automatically provides an image from the Google Images database. Simply select a product and click on "Get Pictures from Google Images". The platform then retrieves an image from Google and links it to your product page.

Other widgets in Odoo 15
Many other features are built into the latest version of Odoo to make navigation smoother and more enjoyable, such as:
price filters;
global product search;
design improvements.
Alternatively, the buyer can remain on the store page while adding an item to the cart. We’re also seeing the option to include donations and to manage a new shopping journey, which involves paying online and then picking up the item at a point of sale.
Website Creation with Odoo V15
Using artificial intelligence, you interact directly with the system to create your website. The tool asks you a few questions, and you simply answer by choosing from a drop-down list or using auto-completion. To choose the colours for your site, the interface lets you select from a colour palette or pull the colours from your logo.

Then, once you’ve selected a theme from the various options, all you have to do is click on "create my site". Odoo 15 automatically builds your website from all the information you’ve provided.

The operation is completed in seconds. It’s 35% faster than the previous version, and the difference is obvious. Everything has been designed to make your work even easier.
Accounting with Odoo 15
Version 15 introduced even more new features to Odoo’s Accounting module. Despite the complexity of invoicing, the tool does an excellent job of simplifying things for managers. It easily takes into account:
- multiple sources of transactions;
- various value-added taxes (different rates depending on the country and changing regulations);
- multiple currencies;
- taxes.
Thanks to built-in artificial intelligence, Odoo 15 scans data from all types of incoming documents. The information it gathers is then used to automatically complete your invoices. By eliminating manual data entry, your accounting team saves a significant amount of time. It also supports fully paperless processing.

Odoo 15 automates as many tasks as possible. It pulls in banking transactions in real time from banks around the world, while still letting you keep a clear overview. The software updates reports after every change and supports real-time collaboration. You can also add complex calculations to match your management requirements. And if that still isn’t enough, the sales accounting module can be further customized to meet your needs exactly.
Odoo Inventory with Odoo 15
The Inventory module has been redesigned to include new filters. This lets you quickly spot stock that needs replenishing and detect duplicate serial numbers. Simply scan a product’s barcode and Odoo 15 instantly displays all the information about the item: quantity, warehouse, and more. You can also schedule cycle counts across multiple inventory locations.
Social media updates with Odoo 15
In addition to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, which were already available in the previous version, Odoo 15 now integrates YouTube and Instagram. You can promote your brand and easily organize events across a larger number of social channels. Create content, schedule and publish posts based on your calendar and the networks you want to target. You can manage everything with just a few clicks from a single interface.
The list is still very long. We can’t cover everything that was presented over these two full days. Many presentations also took place in parallel. That said, we find that the evolution of Odoo is impressive with each new release. Everything is constantly being redesigned and refined to improve collaboration and reduce the workload of company teams. Odoo version 15 clearly provides exceptional time savings while delivering very professional, high-quality results. For more details, you can consult the release notes on the publisher’s website.
